Refund & Cancellation Policy

We are grateful for every gift. This policy explains how donations may be cancelled or refunded. Because donations are voluntary contributions to a charitable cause rather than payments for goods or services, they are generally non-refundable — but we deal fairly and promptly with genuine errors, and this policy tells you how.
1. Donations are voluntary and generally non-refundable
A donation is a voluntary gift made to support our charitable work, and once received it is committed to that work. As a general rule, donations are non-refundable. The exceptions below exist so that we can correct genuine mistakes.
2. When we will consider a refund
We will review a refund request in good faith where: (a) a technical or processing error resulted in a duplicate charge; (b) you were charged an amount different from the amount you intended to give; (c) a payment was made without your authorisation (for example, unauthorised use of your card); or (d) you made a genuine and demonstrable mistake and contact us promptly, as set out below.
3. How and when to request a refund
To request a refund, write to hello@abhijeetsevabhavi.org within 7 days of the transaction, giving your name, the date and amount of the donation, the payment reference or transaction ID, and the reason for the request. Requests made after this period will be considered only in exceptional circumstances and at our discretion.
4. How refunds are processed
Approved refunds are made to the original payment method used for the donation. Once approved, we will initiate the refund promptly, and it will typically be credited within 7 to 10 working days, depending on your bank or payment provider. We do not charge a fee for a refund, but we are not responsible for any charge levied by your bank or payment provider.
5. Effect on your tax receipt (80G)
If a donation for which an 80G receipt (Form 10BE) has already been issued is refunded, the receipt is cancelled and may not be used to claim any tax deduction. Where required, we will amend our filings accordingly. Please do not claim a deduction for a donation that has been refunded.
6. Cancelling a recurring (monthly) donation
You may cancel a recurring donation at any time, with effect from the next billing cycle, by writing to hello@abhijeetsevabhavi.org, or through your payment provider or bank where the mandate allows. Cancellation stops future payments; amounts already contributed are treated under the general rule above.
7. Fraudulent or disputed transactions
If you believe a donation was made fraudulently from your account, please contact us immediately and also inform your bank or payment provider. We will cooperate fully with any legitimate investigation.
